Grand Challenges

The UW–Madison School of Education’s Grand Challenges is a grant program to support research and practice in education, health, and creative expression.

We will spark interdisciplinary teams to engage in projects to make a profound difference in the world.

 

Engage Grant Award Recipients

Of 14 applications to the inaugural Grand Challenges Engage Initiative, the eight finalists below received approximately $25,000 each to carry out innovative solutions for critical social and scholarly problems in education, health, and creative expression in Wisconsin and around the world.

Transform Grant Award Recipients

Of 18 applications to the inaugural Grand Challenges Transform Initiative, four finalists will receive approximately $250,000 each to carry out innovative solutions for critical social and scholarly problems in education, health, and creative expression in Wisconsin and around the world.
