Instructional Coaching Certificates
FOUNDATIONS OF STUDENT-CENTERED COACHING: JULY 7 – AUGUST 10, 2019: REGISTER NOW! Through this four-course series, participants will be introduced to the student-centered coaching model and enhance their expertise in grounding coaching work in student evidence. Coursework is embedded in participant contexts, emphasizing the application and analysis of coaching structure and practice in order to empower participants to connect this work directly to their sites. Multiple certificate options are available.
K-8 Mathematics Certificate
This 3-course certificate gives educators the opportunity to deepen their own mathematical knowledge in a setting that models student-centered pedagogy. The K-8 structure of these courses encourages cross-grade-level discussion around content and pedagogy. Activities and assignments will frequently be differentiated in order to accommodate the wide variety of math experience of participants.

YOUNG CHILDREN’S MATHEMATICS: BOOK STUDY & ACTION RESEARCH
REGISTRATION CLOSED FOR 2017. CHECK BACK AUGUST 2018. In this hybrid online/in-person course, we will be reading the book "Young Children’s Mathematics" and investigating how the ideas and content apply to our own teaching spaces.

EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER
This fully online course will provide an overview of evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions for students with autism spectrum disorders. Emphasis will be placed on intervention implementation as well as analysis and interpretation of intervention effects on core autism symptoms.

WISCONSIN FOUNDATIONS OF READING TEST REVIEW
In this online review course for the Wisconsin Foundations of Reading Test, you will familiarize yourself with the objectives and content of the Foundations of Reading Test (or FORT) through a series of modules, each of which represents a different subarea of the test. Each module will contain readings and activities designed to help you, in conjunction with your methods courses, to become comfortable with the material that will be tested on the FORT.

THE EXCEPTIONAL INDIVIDUAL
Learn how to work with children with special needs who require specialized techniques and curricula in today's schools. After an overview of special education, you will explore topics such as legislation, cultural diversity, collaboration, transition, standards, learning disabilities, emotional or behavioral disorders, AD/HD, giftedness, mental retardation, autism, traumatic brain injury, physical disabilities, communication disorders, and visual impairments and hearing loss.

WISCONSIN TEACHER STUDIO
The Wisconsin Teacher Studio is a yearlong action research course for educators implementing, making, makerspaces, and STEAM (science-technology-engineering-arts-math) learning.

UNDERSTANDING THE EDTPA: DOCUMENTING YOUR REFLECTIVE PRACTICE
edTPA™ is an assessment process that requires teacher candidates to demonstrate they have the skills to help all students learn. edTPA was developed by Stanford University’s faculty and staff with input from teachers and teacher educators from across the nation to support candidate learning and preparation program growth and renewal.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
In this introductory course in environmental science, you will explore the interactions between the natural world (biosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere) and cultural world (demographics, economics, politics, and technology). You will examine a wide variety of topics, and strong emphasis is placed on evaluating potential solutions to identified environmental problems.

INDEPENDENT READING IN WISCONSIN NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORY
This is an introduction to the general field of Native American history with a special focus on Wisconsin and the Great Lakes region. You will read 3 (or 6 or 9) books, including the textbook, and prepare 3 (or 6 or 9) critical book reviews depending on the credit option chosen.
